About this blog
Welcome to my blog–a digital garden where I cultivate and document (sometimes trivial) knowledge that might otherwise slip away, explore topics that spark my curiosity, and occasionally reflect on insights from my professional journey. While I rarely delve into personal matters publicly, this remains an informal space where I write primarily to clarify my own thinking and preserve ideas/knowledge I find worth remembering.
The topics here reflect my evolving interests and experiences. What you’ll find isn’t meant to be an authoritative resource–I don’t claim expertise in everything I explore, and I sometimes get things wrong. Instead, think of this as my attempt to make sense of complex ideas, document useful discoveries, and share perspectives that might resonate with others on similar journeys.
While I sometimes draw upon and synthesize existing material (always with proper attribution/citation), the perspectives and opinions expressed here are entirely my own and don’t necessarily reflect those of my current or former employers or any organizations with which I am or was affiliated. When I mention specific companies, tools, or products, it’s because I genuinely think they’re worth discussing, not because I was asked to promote them. I strive to be transparent about any potential conflicts of interest and provide relevant context when discussing topics where such considerations might apply.

About Me
I am currently an NESAP Postdoctoral Fellow with the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab). My research interests center on optimizing computer systems for resource efficiency across various applications. Currently, I focus on optimizing resource utilization for large-scale AI applications spanning NERSC and external facilities.
I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, where I was co-advised by Aaron J. Elmore and Michael J. Franklin, with close collaboration from Sanjay Krishnan. My PhD research centered on building and optimizing data-intensive systems for various applications, such as data science and artificial intelligence. I was a research intern at the Gray Systems Lab of Microsoft, a data science intern at the AI Engineering Team of DocuSign, a research assistant at the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore, and a research assistant at the Department of Information Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Really Wonderful experience at these places!
As you may have noticed, I have a diverse and zigzag professional journey compared to many of my peers. This path has been both intentional and serendipitous–I genuinely enjoy exploring different experiences and environments, always finding ways to make the most of wherever life takes me. Meanwhile, I’m willing to invest time pursuing what feels meaningful in the moment, even knowing my priorities may evolve along the way.
